A Study of Chinese learners’ Beliefs, Strategy use and Proficiency in Learning Chinese as a Foreign Language

This research is a mixed-methods study that examined Chinese learners' beliefs and strategies used in language learning the context of their achieved proficiency. To investigate relationship existing between these variables, two survey questionnaires, proficiency test (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi: HSK 4), an interview item were constructed. In total, one hundred twenty international students conveniently sampled for BALLI SILL as well Proficiency Test, six out selected to respond interview. The results revealed about communication metacognitive frequently among participants. also showed strong positive correlation exists used, while weak statistically significant proficiency, language, used.
